Parent Hire/In-Home DSP

In home support is available if your loved one is DDD eligible. With help from Their Place, parent hires or guardians can become Direct Support Professional (DSP) or apply for a DSP to care for their own family member.

A family member who is receiving supports services is allowed to hire their own family member to be their Direct Support Professional, DSP. Regardless of the type of services received family members of individuals who are recipients of them should inquire if they can be hired as the DSP. Some examples of Supports Services are: Respite, Community Supports, Relief, Self-Directed Activities.
